Alesia pendant lamp by Carlo Forcolini for Artemide, Italy, 1981

A vintage Alesia pendant lamp designed by Carlo Forcolini for Artemide in Milan in 1981, with its original Artemide label still attached. A bold blue shade with a red metal mesh detail makes it a graphic statement piece. The telescopic stem lets you adjust the height, so it hangs straight down even from a sloping ceiling. A great example of early-80s Italian lighting design, it works well above a dining table, a kitchen island or in a hallway.
